of Chapter Dinner Meeting Monday,
April 21, 2008
The
meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by President Bob Reeves at the
Paramount Resort and
Conference
Center
.
The Sojourner’s Toast to the Flag
was delivered by 1st
Vice President Ray Davis followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, the Pledge to the
Sons of the American Revolution and an Invocation by Chaplain Charles Rinek.
President Reeves welcomed the members and recognized the keynote speaker,
Lieutenant General John LeMoyne USA (Ret) and Mrs. LeMonye.
Charles Miller was recognized as our newest member. The date April 19 was
recognized as the anniversary of the “Battle of Concord“, the “shot
heard around the world”. A
brief tribute to John Paul Jones, the father of our American Navy was presented.
Some highlights of his service during the revolutionary period were included.
After dinner, General John LeMoyne delivered inspiring words of encouragement,
gratitude and support to the Cadets that were present for their awards. These
are some of the future leaders of our county and the awards honored their
accomplishments.
A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to General LeMoyne.
Presentation of awards by ROTC Committee co-chairmen, Bob Reeves, and Ray Davis.

President Reeves announced the usual business report would be omitted. Chaplain
Rinek presented a summary of the American Indian’s contributions to our
country. Specific interest includes the “federal system” form of government
which our 13 Colonies established. This formation permits individual states to
retain powers not conceded to the central government.
The 50-50 event was won by a member who donated his proceeds to the.
The door-prize was won by a cadet’s mother.
The
meeting was concluded with the American’s Creed, Benediction, SAR Recessional
and the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 P. M.
