In March Paul Crouch from VAMC presentation of the OEF/OIF Veterans was extremely informative; it provided impetus to our newly formed Veterans Committee. Hugh Smith became our first Associate Member in 2006 and was presented with his Certificate of Membership.

Tom Fasulo is a Senior Associate in Entomology at UF, a 'frustrated historian' and avid re-enactor at Olustee. He provided an informative, interesting and entertaining presentation on the 'role' of insects in the Revolutionary era, the advances in medicine and science by the time of the Civil War/War Between the States and today.

UF Homecoming Parade
Ray Davis. Harry & Patti Hollien, Charlie Rinek and I rode
in a wagon in the UF Homecoming Parade. We were scheduled to have a
horse-drawn wagon, but the Parade Director said "NO horses" a week
before - so it was pulled by a pickup.
Approximately 22,000 participated in the parade and about 130,000 watched
curbside and another 300,000 saw it on TV. While we were on TV [a little
more than a minute] the commentators talked about our uniforms and participation
in naturalization ceremonies and scholarship programs.
Still Newsworthy:
History and Freedom; are you up to the challenge?
